Sun and Shield Primary & Junior School continues to set the pace in nurturing talent and inspiring artistic excellence. We are proud to announce that 11 outstanding items from our school have qualified for the 97th Kenya Music Festivals 2025, set to take place in Meru County from August 4th to 7th, 2025.
This achievement reflects the tireless dedication, discipline, and talent of our learners, guided by a team of passionate and skilled mentors. A total of 75 learners will carry the Sun and Shield banner at the national stage, ready to showcase their creativity, musical mastery, and commitment to excellence.
We are especially proud of the eight items that earned Position One (Gold) at the Rift Valley Regional Music Festivals. These include: Solo Girls JS Piece by Ziva Quinn, Piano Advanced JS by Victor Maisiba, Classical Guitar Solo Primary by Jabali Bargoria, Brass Solo Primary by Gilgal Mosigisi, Patriotic Song JS by the Girls Choir, Girls Set Piece JS, Sacred Own Choice Girls JS, and Composition AA KENYA. These victories not only qualified them for the national competition but also affirmed their place as top performers in their categories.
In addition, three items earned Position Two (Silver) and also advanced to the national level. These include the Brass Ensemble, Violin Advanced Own Choice by Carleen Bosibori, and the Brass and Woodwind Ensemble. Each performance represents a unique blend of skill, expression, and teamwork.
Our journey to the nationals would not be possible without the unwavering support of the Board of Management, the Headteacher, our dedicated teachers, and the entire Sun and Shield community. Their commitment to holistic education continues to provide learners with opportunities to excel both academically and artistically.
As we prepare for the national stage, we move forward with confidence, faith, and unity—believing in our vision and in God’s promises. Our goal is clear: to return with 11 national trophies as a celebration of our hard work and God-given talent.
