Eight days in Bangkok, Thailand gave our World Scholars an experience they will not forget. From international travel and cultural exchange to debates, competitions, adventure and medals, every day brought something different.
Day 1: The Journey Begins
Our scholars departed Nairobi aboard Qatar Airways at 8:15 a.m., travelling through Qatar before connecting to Bangkok. They carried with them excitement, hope and one big goal: to represent Sun and Shield proudly.

Day 2: Welcome to Bangkok
After more than 11 hours of travel, the team arrived in Bangkok at 9:35 a.m. After immigration and lunch, they checked into the Ramada Hotel and rested.
The evening ended with dinner at the iconic Baiyoke Sky Hotel, where they enjoyed Kenyan, Indian, Asian and other international cuisines.
Day 3: Scavenger Hunt & Fun
At Siam Amazing Park and Bangkok World, our scholars joined scavenger teams made up of learners from more than 30 countries.
They bonded, made new friends and enjoyed roller coasters, swings, horse racing and other activities before ending the day with dinner and dessert.
Day 4: Debate & Collaborative Writing
The scholars spent the day at Denla British School taking part in debate and collaborative writing.

Working in teams of three, they shared ideas, challenged one another and put their communication and critical-thinking skills to the test.
Day 5: Debate Showcase & Scholars' Bowl
The competition continued at Siam Pic Ganesha Theatre with the Debate Showcase, Scholars' Show and Scholars' Bowl.
The Scholars' Bowl tested knowledge in Mathematics, History and Government, Science and Technology, English and general knowledge.
Day 6: Golden Temple, Dream World & Cultural Fair
The scholars visited the Golden Temple before heading to Dream World for a day of fun and adventure.
In the evening, they attended the Cultural Fair at Aksra Theatre, proudly showcasing Kenyan culture alongside scholars from different countries.
Day 7: Medals, Yale Qualifications & Scholars' Ball
This was the big one.
Our scholars earned Gold and Silver medals, with some winning as many as five medals. Even more exciting, 15 learners qualified for the Tournament of Champions at Yale University in New Haven, USA.
The day ended with the Scholars' Ball, giving everyone a chance to celebrate, make memories and say goodbye to friends from around the world.

Day 8: Shopping, Dinner Cruise & Home
The final day included shopping and a memorable dinner cruise from ICONSIAM, with the Bangkok skyline lighting up the evening.
The team later travelled back to Kenya and arrived at JKIA at 1:40 p.m., where proud and excited parents were waiting to welcome their champions home.
Eight days. New friendships. New experiences. Gold and Silver medals. 15 Yale qualifiers.
What a journey for our Sun and Shield scholars!
