At Sun and Shield Primary and Junior Secondary School, the air is alive with rhythm, harmony, and anticipation as the music department ushers in yet another vibrant musical season.
This year, our students are showcasing their exceptional talent in a wide range of categories, including choral music (set pieces and original compositions), instrumentals in Western style, and elocution performances in both English and Kiswahili. With 54 entries advancing from the sub-county level, the stage is set for a powerful presentation at the Nakuru County Championships, taking place from June 8th to June 11th at Menengai High School, Nakuru East, Nakuru City.
These entries span from the Early Childhood Development (ECD) section all the way to Junior Secondary (JS), reflecting the rich depth of talent across our school. We're proud to announce that about 30 items secured first position, while the rest achieved a strong second-place finish, an outstanding performance that highlights the hard work and dedication of both our learners and their music instructors.
For the past thirteen years, Sun and Shield School has consistently participated in the National Music Festivals, a testament to our commitment to nurturing creativity, self-expression, and cultural excellence through music and the performing arts.
As we head into the county level, we carry with us not just songs and scripts, but passion, discipline, and a proud legacy. We wish all our performers the very best as they continue to shine on the big stage.
Let the music play on!
