At Sun and Shield School, we believe in nurturing not only the minds but also the hearts and spirits of our learners. This past weekend was a powerful testament to that commitment as our community gathered for an inspiring Weekend Challenge filled with worship, teaching, and life-changing decisions for Christ.
We were honoured to host Reverend Justus Mutuku, the Acting University Provost at Kabarak University, as our keynote speaker. With deep insight and heartfelt passion, Reverend Mutuku challenged our students to run their spiritual race with purpose, discipline, and unwavering focus. His powerful messages stirred hearts and planted seeds of faith that will grow for years to come.
Reverend Mutuku was joined by a dynamic team of ministers from Kabarak University, whose heartfelt ministry left an indelible mark on everyone present. Through moving worship sessions, deep moments of prayer, and rich teaching, students were drawn into a closer relationship with God and encouraged to stand firm in their faith.
The spiritual high point of the weekend came on Sunday, July 6th, when forty-eight learners were baptized at Kabarak University. This profound and public declaration of faith was a moment of pure joy and divine celebration. The baptism service, attended by school directors, teachers, parents, and fellow students, marked the beginning of a new life in Christ for each of these young believers—cleansed, renewed, and set apart for God’s purpose.
This Weekend Challenge has left a lasting imprint on our hearts. It reminded us all that life is not a sprint but a race of endurance, purpose, and faith. Our students have been equipped not just to compete but to run to win.
We are deeply grateful to Reverend Justus Mutuku, the entire Kabarak University ministry team, and every teacher, parent, and director who supported, encouraged, and prayed over this extraordinary weekend.
At Sun and Shield School, we remain committed to raising champions—spiritually, academically, and morally. As our learners run their race, we stand beside them, cheering them on toward the ultimate prize: a life lived fully for Christ. To God be all the glory!
